Hotel policies
The short version of how things work at Sama Hotel. If anything is unclear, ask us — we would rather you knew before you arrive.
Cancellation
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before check-in (2:00 PM hotel time). Cancellations after that, and no-shows, are charged the first night. Group bookings follow the terms on their confirmation.
Children & extra beds
Children under 8 stay free in their parents' room using existing bedding. An extra bed is OMR 10 per night, on request. A cot for infants is free.
Pets
Pets are not allowed at the hotel.
Smoking
All rooms are non-smoking. A shisha area is available outside.
Payment
Payment is made at the hotel on arrival, by cash or card. We do not take online payments or card details when you book.
Taxes & fees
Prices are shown per night before taxes. A service charge of 8%, a tourism fee of 4% and VAT of 5% are added as separate lines on your quote and on your bill.
Getting up the mountain
A 4WD vehicle is required by the police checkpoint at Birkat Al Mouz. Guests without a 4WD can park at the checkpoint car park and book our 4WD transfer with their room — see Transfers & activities below.
Transfers & activities
Two-wheel-drive cars are not allowed past the Birkat Al Mouz police checkpoint. Guests without a 4WD park at the checkpoint car park; the drive up to the hotel takes about 45 minutes.
Our 4WD transfer costs OMR 20 per car (up to 4 guests) each way — up from the checkpoint on arrival and back down after check-out. Add it when you book and tell us your expected arrival time.
APEX Zipline rides are OMR 5 per rider when booked with your room — a special rate for hotel guests. Maximum rider weight is 120 kg; children ride with a guardian's consent; closed-toe shoes are required and rides depend on the weather.
Add-ons are requested with your booking and confirmed by the hotel, usually on WhatsApp within a few hours. They are paid at the hotel together with your room — nothing is charged online.
Cancelling a booking cancels its add-ons too, under the same cancellation policy as the room. To change only an add-on, message us on WhatsApp.
